Rock the World is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We are also incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and are governed by an independent, self-perpetuating Board of Trustees. The Board is composed of experienced business, church, and nonprofit leaders, and representatives of our graduate community. We also always have young people on our Board, giving us current insight into "client" sensibilities. We are not officially a part of any denomination; but we enjoy a history of association with Anglicanism and a growing relationship with other traditions and movements.
A word about our 501(c)(3) determination letter: The original IRS filing was done under our old name (1989-94) of “Youth Quest.” After legal challenges arose to our use of that name (and after we had received our permanent determination letter from the IRS), the Board chose to change our name to Rock the World Youth Mission Alliance. Therefore our determination letter needs to be read in conjunction with the official IRS recognition of our change of name. This is why we offer two documents in a single pdf file. This pair of documents is available upon request.
